Constructing international schools as postcolonial sites

This paper explores the discursive construction of race in Malaysian international schools and its relationship with postcolonialism. In response to expansion schooling, it analyses data from a study school leadership Malaysia, former colony, through postcolonial lens. It draws on face-to-face interviews twelve leaders, discourse analysis sample websites schools. Malaysia is an ethnocracy, three distinct racial groups, ethnicity affects many aspects life, including education, suggested that offer no exception this. The indicate four emergent themes, these being constructions of: identity; educational expertise; leadership; itself. authors posit operate as sites.
